Last time someone at WFAN was calling out an ESPN employee for being a fraud, our man Carl Banks was all over Michael Kay for backing out of an invitation to a Knick game. This time, WFAN morning show host Craig Carton, caught ESPN New York’s Jets beat writer and big time douche Rich Cimini, stealing WFAN’s info/sources. Uh oh.
A loyal Boomer and Carton listener, who goes by “Dave in Babylon“, called into the show last week and reported a story saying he has a good friend, who saw New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez and Chad Pennington together studying new offensive coordinator Tony Sparano’s playbook, in Florida. Okay…nice scoop, Dave. Fast forward two days, and BOOM. Cimini “BREAKS” this story…..“Chad Pennington helps Mark Sanchez.”
So earlier today, Craigy puts Rich on blast, like a true G …..or #idiot. Your call LISTEN HERE. (Audio via WFAN/CBS)
Now I don’t know all the details, but judging by the call and the timeline of all of this, Cimini slimed his way into a story. Not at all shocking….Cimini has been notorious for being a bit of a douche. Remember this infamous tweet?
Yup…calling a kid who had JUST been drafted into the NFL a “Druggie” …. really professional. I could go off on this story, but for the sake of time….I won’t. It’s water under the bridge. But let’s not forget the point here. Cimini/ESPN stole a story from WFAN. SHOCKER. Come on, Rich…..you work FOR THE WORLDWIDE LEADER IN SPORTS!
