6-years for $60 million dollars, that will buy YU a SHITLOAD of Maryjane, that’s for damn sure. I wonder how much of that new Texas Rangers pitcher, YU Darvish will spend on some grass and more weed tee-shirts? Check out what the hell I’m talking about in this picture of YU leaving a Japanese airport, in route to Texas to be introduced to the media.
Yup, YU see that shit on his tee-shirt? That is definitely the weed leaf or whatever the hell YU call it. Does Yu puff the magic dragon out in Japan? I wonder what kinda freaky ass weed they have out there. After all they do have like parades with dancing dragons, eggs and shit. I wonder if the Rangers are happy seeing that shirt on the guy they just committed $111 million to, so whats up with the hazy decision, YU? YU REALLY love weed that much?
Well the answer YU gave was a astounding, HELL NO. Yu said at his introductory press conference at Rangers Ballpark that he likes to wear shirts with English writing and that he had no idea it signaled an interest in something more.
Oh that’s not the ONLY excuse YU can make. There was another explanation for the t-shirt.
According to Konnichiwhoa, reports out of Japan said the shirt depicts a Japanese maple leaf. And the story checks out if you look at this side-by-side illustration of a Japanese maple leaf and a cannabis leaf.
In Japan, the marijuana leaf is a popular symbol without any real smoking context. Plenty of native Japanese have leafy t-shirts, or necklaces, or air fresheners in their cars, and don’t really know that they’re symbolizing a drug.
Marijuana is highly illegal in Japan. It’s considered a hard drug, and that’s why we recommend in our Japan travel guide that you leave it at home.
So what do YU believe? I think Yu knew what it meant 100% and I think he likes to toke on occasion. Does it matter? HELL no. I think it’s actually hilarious. Not to mention he’ll fit right in with Ron Washington. Yu will break that Japanese jam and Ron will supply the blow. Sounds like a party. Just keep former junkie Josh Hamilton away.
