Sweet, a Hockey Fight!

Tim Thomas was quoted here saying the famous FloppingOut line "Less Get It" to Canadians goalie Carey Price.

To be totally honest, the only time you’ll hear about Hockey from me here at FloppingOut is when one of those big brawls occur on the ice.(Co-Blogger Frankie is a big Hockey guy)

Well last night there was a great one in Boston, the Boston Bruins welcomed in the Montreal Canadians, Milan Lucic scored twice in the second period, and Nathan Horton had a goal and four assists for Boston as the Bruins smacked around the Montreal Canadians to win 8-6  last night. (Sounds like a game I’d watch, not that 1-0 bore fest)

Bruins All-Star Goalie Tim Thomas allowed six goals, (I didn’t know they scored that many) but he made up for it by calling out Montreal’s Goalie Carey Price during a second-period fight that left the penalty boxes with more Canadians in it then an Igloo, and the ice full of everyone’s equipment after the two teams had its whole starting lineup engaged in a fight on Montreal’s side of the ice.

During the second-period brawl (that left five Bruins and four Canadians in the penalty box) Bruins Goalie Tim Thomas skated down the ice and called out the Canadians Carey Price. I think both goalies got bored standing there so they needed some attention.

I love how in Hockey during and after the fight, both guys are laughing and taking turns exchanging punches (most fail to land a blow) and you have the Refs skating around like they were announcing, I have to admit that is when the NHL is at its best.

Maybe in order to prevent another strike they should set aside 5 minutes a period and allow each member of each team call one guy out and let them skate from each side of the ice, to center ice and have them duke it out, that would be very dramatic. Maybe you could even have that sweet light-show display they do in the pre-game player introductions. That’s something I’d watch.
