Stan Van Gundy is officially the Most Annoying Coach in the NBA
In a recent Sports Illustrated poll of 138 current NBA Players, 65 percent or 90 players voted my man Stan Van Gundy as the most annoying coach in the NBA. NO? Behind Stan were Phil Jackson and Scott “just jump” Skiles.
You can’t be surprised that Stan Van Gundy is numero uno. The guy loves to yell, scream, wine, bitch, hurl…whatever else that comes out of the fat man’s mouth…It is so apparent that his players do not care what Stan is saying that there are numerous times during timeouts when Stan tries to ask his players questions; and they either don’t answer or walk right back on the court probably thinking “can that fat ass just shut the hell up cause my checks are cashing in too nice right NOW.”

Like Stan, it is also NOT surprising that Scott “just jump” Skiles is up there on the list. Not only does Scott constantly yell, bitch and scream himself but from a player’s perspective it must be extremely “annoying” knowing that your coach will bring you to the playoffs and you will inevitably get knocked out. Don’t get me wrong, Scott has knack for bringing his team to the playoffs but that is as far as that “knack” goes. Scoot has 4 first round exists, and it has gotten so bad at times that the words “Scott Skiles” and “playoff win” should be as rare in the same sentence as “Frankie took his shirt off” and “Not Floppy”.
But I do have some good advice for Scott: Get Tim Donaghy a Mr. Potato head disguise, and sneak him in to ref the last 20 games for your squad, and throw the season. At least it will allow your players more time to see their families and kids, or players like Delonte West, Lebron’s mom. Don’t make your players pack all their stuff, tirelessly travel on a plane, have their emotions rolling with lies as if something good will happen, and then get eliminated…Same goes for Mr. Stan Van. You may bring your team a little further than Scott, but in the end you end up Flopping Out as well.
Stan Van Gundy and Scott Skiles have combined to coach 118 playoff games, and between the two have managed to win only 1 game in a mere NBA Finals appearance (2009) by the fat man.
Interesting Coincidence: Phil Jackson who is second on the “Most Annoying Coaches” list, behind Stan Van Gundy and alongside Scott Skiles, is the winning-est playoff coach in NBA history. As a coach; Jackson has won the most titles in NBA History (11), has the most playoff victories, and has the highest playoff winning percentage. Phil’s players are the extreme. They are so annoyed at him about winning all the damn time and having to travel deep into the playoffs every damn year. Let us go home PHIL (Sasha Vujacic voice)
