President Obama Knows Better Than To Mess With The NFL
President Barack Obama will deliver a rare address to a joint session of Congress next Thursday night, September 8th, 2011, at 7:30 PM EST to introduce a plan for jobs and economic growth. Anyone have any plans that night? Oh that’s right… THE FRIGGIN’ NFL SEASON KICKS OFF THAT NIGHT.
The reigning Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers will welcome the 2009 champion New Orleans Saints to Lambeau Field on Thursday night. Now when many heard of President Obama’s September 8th plan they immediately were concerned that they wouldn’t be able to hear the boring and probably useless speech….well don’t you worry.
White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer said this morning that President Obama would finish his speech before kickoff, which is set for 7:30 p.m – Milwaukee time; 8:30 Eastern time. A welcoming note to many, including my fat ass. I will be face deep in wings, beers and my fantasy football team by the time Obama says his last word during the conference.
With a struggling economy (duh) and the NFL which probably has more money than the US Treasury, I think Obama has some LUT on this game. I think the Pres has a few G’s on the underdog Saints. At +4 I think that’s a solid bet. You can bet your ass that the President has just won himself a few extra votes with this decision.
