North Korea’s Team Loses Because They Got What?!!

Our USA Women’s Soccer team beat up on the North Korean National team today in the first game of the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup. But the beating the Korean squad took today wasn’t the worst pain they’ve most recently felt…

North Korea’s manager, Kwang Min Kim was complaining to reporters during post game press conferences and even stooped to the level of blaming their poor play on his team “being struck by lightning,”…yes I’m serious.

This was in today’s BBC…

“When we stayed in Pyongyang during training our players were hit by lightning, and more than five of them were hospitalised,” said coach Kim.

“Some stayed in hospital and then came to Germany later than the rest of us. The goalkeeper and the four defenders were most affected, and some midfielders as well. The physicians said the players were not capable of participating in the tournament.

“But World Cup football is the most important and significant event for a footballer, so they don’t want to think about anything but football.

“The fact that they played could be called abnormal, the result of very strong will.”

Oh yeah Kim,….and if the Queen had a pair she’d be King.

Let’s be honest our girls looked good (well most of them minus Wambach and Boxx) and yours look like 16 year old boys. They took it too your squad and you had no answers. For your sake, I hope Kim Jong-il’s cable was out; otherwise I’d keep that team plane grounded in Germany because you’ll probably be hung in the streets of North Korea…if you don’t get struck by lighting.
