NFLPA telling Top Prospects to Not Attend NFL Draft

The NFLPA has contacted 17 of this year’s top NFL prospects and has told them to not attend this year’s (2011) NFL Draft at Radio City Music Hall on Thursday, April 28th. Although decertified the NFLPA still exists as “a trade association that looks after and supports the interests of current and former professional football players.” It is not exactly understood what the NFLPA’s motive is in all this, but it definitely serves as a slap in the face towards NFL Owners and Rogerwhere my fines atGoodell.

A source close to the NFLPA claimed, “As of right now, this is 100 percent happening…This is going down.”

So if “This is going down”….A player would be called, say Patrick Peterson, and he won’t be present to go up on stage, take his #1 jersey, take a bullshit picture with Roger Goodell, and take part in any interviews etc…

I mean as a fan I could honestly care less and this may be the year that I actually prefer this so I do not have to see or listen to Cam Newton tell the world how special he is (benefits cough, where’s Cecil cough).

Another interesting turn in all this is that apparently the NFLPA may set up their own outside network where they would host their own post pick pictures, interviews, etc…This would be sweet if they did it right. Imagine if they got Brooklyn Decker to take the #1 picture instead of GooTohell, and Charlie Sheen to conduct the post pick interviews. I know this is getting old but please tell me that wouldn’t be the most #winning (Charlie Sheen voice only) thing the NFLPA could do against the owners and Roger.
