MATT FLYNN IS GOING TO BE DIRTY…TRUST ME!
If you want a franchise Quarterback…GET MATT FLYNN. The dude is nasty. I know, I know he plays on the Packers, who could make my mother look good. BUT THIS GUY HAS THE ULTIMATE PACKAGE. And I know, I know the game he blew up was against A SHITTY LIONS SECONDARY ON A TEAM THAT WAS 13-2, BUT JUST WATCH THE THROWS THIS GUY MAKES AND HOW HE MAKES THEM. He is so relaxed and calm, like he has been starting for the last 10 years. He doesn’t get rattled by pressure, avoids sacks, and always has his head down field. Not to mention he has elite like ability in read progressions. OH and something else people forget is how his only year starting in college was for the LSU TIGERS, where HE WON A BCS CHAMPIONSHIP AND WAS THE MVP OF THE GAME with 4 TDs.
Now f you want to see (a limited but impressive) amounts of plays just look at how Flynn LITE it up during his only 2 starts in the NFL. HE ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT. 1st against the PATRIOTS IN 2010: Flynn was 24 of 37 for 251 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT (on a route a receiver stopped on), 64.9 CMP % and a 100.2 passer rating. THEN IN HIS 2nd career START WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED…
Flynn was 31 for 44 for 480 yards, 70.5 CMP%, 6 TDs, 1INT, 70.5% and 136.4 passer rating. Now you might say, hey he plays for the PACKERS, who have a great passing offense. YES. BUT LOOK AT THIS GUY FROM A BODY OF WORK, FORGET EVERYTHING ELSE. BE A SCOUT. He is so calm, confident, makes REDIC THROWS and does not get rattled by pressure (which is what I value most in a quarterback who can OBV MAKE FAST, and EFFECTIVE THROWS). Oh if this seems like too much whipped cream on the best ice cream in the world…
CHECK OUT FLYNN AGAINST THE PATRIOTS LAST YEAR [HERE]. Just look at how good and poised he was in the pocket…THIS IS NO FLUKE. Oh and against the Vikings last year he was 2 for 2 for 38 yards, 100% CMP, 118.8 Passer Rating, and a RUSHING TD. WHATTTTT. Now I understand this guy has only started two games, but FROM A SCOUT PERSPECTIVE - THIS DUDE IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPRESSIVE FREE AGENT QUARTERBACKS I HAVE SEEN. If this dude GETS IN A GOOD SYSTEM, WITH SOME GOOD RECEIVERS, HE WILL BE RIDICULOUS. And what impresses me the most are his “anti Sanchez” skills, which is read progression. He is so good at going from read 1 to 3, and does it without getting flustered. I am telling you when you watch a quarterback, watch how his throw changes as he is getting hit. The point is…it is NOT supposed to. Flynn does not flinch, and JUST MAKES THE THROW without regard for anything.
Matt Flynn is an unrestricted Free Agent and the PACKERS are most likely going to Franchise him. Meaning if a team wants Flynn they would have to trade something for him. I would trade a 2nd round pick for him without blinking, and even a late 1st round pick. YES. This guy will be nasty and if you WANT TO WIN A SB TAKE A RISK. There are 31 other teams being conservative….HAVE SOME BALLS.
So WHO should go after Flynn: WAS, MIN, SF, ARZ (forget Kolb he blows – talking about someone who gets flustered with pressure), SEA, MIA, CLE, TEN, HOU, OAK, KC, and…………THE JETS. If I was a Jets owner I would go after Matt Flynn. Now I would rather keep Sanchez for one more year than go all in with Peyton Manning because the DUDE IS 36 and hurt. But I would make a run at MATT FLYNN because I think he is going to be nasty. So why not Manning?
1) Manning only has 3 years…and if you don’t win a Super Bowl in those 3 years (which is more likely than not) what next? Do you really want to scramble for a young gun again?
2) Manning has an injury that he and nobody else knows how it will hold up if he gets hit sticked in the neck.
3) Manning did not want to go to the Jets in the 1998 draft because he claims he wanted to stay in college, but ask any New Yorker and we’ll tell you that ARCHIE did not want Peyton to play for Parcells. SO FUCK THE MANNING FAMILY.
Plus, Manning does not want to play in NY where his brother already has 2 Super Bowls, in cold weather, with A SHIT OFFENSE OUTSIDE OF SANCHEZ. Our WRs and RBs combined SUCK RIGHT NOW; you think Peyton wants to play with Holmes and Shonn Greene as his two best offensive options. AND PLEASE JET FANS PLEASE…IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A QUARTERBACK IN THE DRAFT…DON’T DEPEND ON THE NFL DRAFT…WE ALL REMEMBER THIS… AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
