Logan Morrison Sent To The Minors HAHA

So the dude who is more famous for his annoying twitter account, and not his game, was sent to AAA New Orleans after tonight’s game vs the San Francisco Giants. That of course is Florida Marlins young outfielder, Logan Morrison. Morrison was hitting .249 with 17 homers and 60 RBI, the third most on the team, but his bad defense, not attending team events, and of course his big mouth seem to be the main reason he got the demotion. I always say…being sent to AAA is a lot better than having to go to AA…. pretty lame joke, right? (“Hello I am Logan and I am addicted to twitter“).
This what Logan told the media was the reason why he was demoted…
“Because I was hitting .240. Yeah. That’s what they said. So. I don’t know if that makes any sense to me or to you guys but all I know is I go out and I give everything for this team. I play hurt, I play through injury and this is how you get treated. It doesn’t seem very fair or right to me.”
Logan then told Joe Capozzi in an interview with the PalmBeachPost, “I had no idea what it was, other than they said we’re going to exercise our right to option you to Triple-A. I was like… I walked out. I couldn’t even say anythign at that point, I was so mad.”
Joe Capozzi, an italiano may have also solved the mystery when he had evidence of LoMo missing photo shoots and charity events…
“Based on my conversations with people, there were some events leading up to the demotion that had to do with team-related promotional functions. To be clear, the Marlins said they optioned LoMo to New Orleans because he was batting .249″ [PalmBeachPost].
“Earlier in the day, he refused to participate in a photo session with season ticket holders at Sun Life Stadium. That might sound surprising, given Logan’s outgoing personality and popularity with fans, but apparently there were some hard feelings related to earlier promotional activities” [PalmBeachPost].
“I know that this past Thursday — a Marlins off day — Logan canceled a charity bowling tournament in Miami because he said the Florida Marlins Community Foundation “dropped the ball” and didn’t sell enough lanes in advance” [PalmBeachPost].
Now while this may all be true, it could be possible that Morrison got in some grade A beef with his coaches over his Twitter game, which is at a Hall of Fame level. He was already told earlier this year to tone it down by a coach.
I mean at the end of the day it’s not like Florida is playing for anything and Morrison is one of their better young stars. Me thinks that this may also have a little bit to do about his comments on Hanley Ramirez the past few days. LoMo was quoted calling out some of the Marlins vets, in particular Ramirez.
“What we don’t have is experience and a veteran who is in the lineup every day that can be an anchor for us. We don’t have it,” Morrison told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Morrison was asked if he was actually talking about Hanley and he said:
“I guess, but he’s not there every game,” Morrison said of Ramirez, who was placed on the disabled list Wednesday for the second time this season. “It’s 162 games. It’s not a 100-game season.”
So LoMo….(who’s twitter name is @LoMoMarlins) may have to look to make a switch…..too bad that some dude already created a @LoMoZephyrs…for you idiots, the Zephyrs are the minor league affiliate of the Marlins, in New Orleans, where LoMo will be taking his talents for at least a few weeks. Good looks Logan….here’s a tip….delete your twitter.
