I Think Chris Johnson Is Fed Up
Well we are 8 days away from Opening Night in the NFL (Saints @ Packers, Thursday Night 8:30 PM) and only 11 days away from the Tennessee Titans opening game vs the Jaguars, on Sunday September 11th. So I guess it’s safe to say Titans running back (who is still holding out) Chris Johnson is getting nervous about getting his big money.
ESPN’s NFL analyst Chris Mortensen reported that Johnson is seeking a deal that would pay him $39 million over the first three years, a $13 million average, that would place him in that elite status Johnson is seeking (beyond the running back market). Johnson has said numerous times that he wants to not only be the highest paid running back, but also one of the NFL’s highest paid “play makers.”
I’ve heard the Titans are more then ready to make CJ2k the highest paid running back in the NFL, but are not willing to pay that $13 million annual average that Johnson desperately wants…..so you know what comes next right…….dudes will be turnin’ on each other especially with these deals out there- (Carolina recently gave DeAngelo Williams a five-year deal valued at $43 million with $21 million guaranteed. Adrian Peterson of Minnesota is in the final season of his original five-year contract, earning more than $10 million this season. Steven Jackson got a six-year deal worth $44 million with more than $20 million in bonuses in August 2008.)

Now, Now Chris…..I’m sure you saw how the lockout just played out right….just about EVERYONE was on the players side in the beginning, until about late July when the Owners agreed to pass the new CBA and players said no….then JUST ABOUT EVERYONE got on the players. Here’s a FACT, Chris, NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT YOU AS A PERSON….we have other things to worry about. We’re fans of our teams, not players. May sound harsh, but it’s the god’s honest truth. If you don’t want to play for your team, the fans of that team will forget about you the second the next guy comes in and rushes for 1,400 yards and 10 td’s. Balls in your court, CJ…..you playin’ or you sittin’ out?
Oh and for all you dopes that took Chris Johnson 1, 2, 3, or hell, even in the first round of your respective fantasy drafts….I hope you like hearing about sore hammys and quads….because homie aint’ playing a full, healthy season…..it’s almost impossible.
