Go.. St. Johns… Go.. St. Johns…Go!
Yesterday St. Johns University broke a decade long curse and put themselves back in the Associated Press poll.
St. Johns defeated No. 4 Pitt at the Garden (no, not that place in Boston). The game also ended a 5 game win streak by Pitt against the Red Storm.
Dwight Hardy from THA BX… had himself yet another great game scoring 19 points, 2 of which went for a reverse underhand layup with 1.2 ticks left that in essence put the game away as Pitt had no timeouts left. Justin Burrell also from THA BX…, played well as the senior dropped 15 puntos and grabbed 8 boards.
This victory would be St. Johns 5th victory over a top 1o opponent this year.
Another thing worth noting is St. John’s coach Steve Lavin’s and his GaNgsTa swag. Lavin has not left wearing sneakers since Coaches vs. Cancer week in which all coaches wore sneakers to raise awareness on cancer. Lavin also does not like wearing ties ….
“For the rest of my career I don’t anticipate ever going back to a tie or dress shoes ever again…we’re 6-1 with sneakers that started to bring attention to a great cause.”
Worthless info cause I’m fat and bored:
St. Johns is the 7th winningest program in college basketball history, and notable individuals that went to St. Johns: Chris Mullin, Mark Jackson, Ron Artest, and the one and only…. Mike Francesa.
Here is a contribute to St. Johns Finest, Fattest, Floppiest….
