Breaking News: Judge Rules for Players and Lifts Lockout

Finally good news in regards to the NFL Lockout…

Judge Nelson loves her football players in suits

According to Chris Mortensen U.S. District Court Judge Susan Richard Nelson (weird ass name) has granted NFL players their motion for preliminary injunction, which would lift the lockout. So this is a ruling for the players as Judge Nelson claimed she was swayed by the players, and now we are waiting for an appeal by the owners.

So Judge Nelson (wonder if she got down for Manning) has agreed with plaintiffs (NFL players led by Brady and Manning), ended the lockout, but this will not move anything forward to an NFL season until the owners file appeals, the appeals are resolved in courts, and bargaining inevitably leads to an agreement by both sides.

According to Chris Mortensen appeals are expected to lead into the spring and even the summer; so don’t get too excited for Chicken Wing Sunday fatties. But it is good that the judge thinks the owners have gone too far.

This has come after Judge Nelson heard arguments since April 6th, by both sides, and mandated both sides resume mediation until she came up with a decision…which was to lift the lockout and give Brady and Manning some happy ending time.
