Antonio Pierce Goes In HARD on Tiki Barber

Eli we ALL know I'm jealous of your Super Bowl Ring, but why do you have the personality of a blind Donkey?

Two Former New York Giants have been in the news this past week, and one more vocal then the other one.

Former Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce had some harsh words for former runningback Tiki Barber, who plans on ending his retirement and return to the NFL.

Tiki Barber, the leader, the person in that locker room? He is not going to do anything for your team,” Pierce said. “Now if that is the guy you think you are bringing in, you might want to look in another direction.”

Pierce, who is now an ESPN analyst went on to say that his problem with Tiki is that from his personal experience,

”he didn’t do anything to help the Giants in 2006 when he decided to retire in the middle of the season and then months later question our quarterback and our head coach.”

Antonio is talking about Coach Tom Coughlin and quarterback Eli Manning. Tiki in the past had this to say about Eli Manning, when questioning his leadership abilities.

“When Eli tried to give motivational pre-game speeches, he sounded “comical.”

Now that is funny and I tend to agree with what he said, but I don’t think he should have gone public with that. Eli brings as much excitement to the locker-room and football field as Albert Haynesworth.

Tiki also went after his former head coach Tom Coughlin, he said that he went too hard on some players, almost “bootcamp” like, and was quoted saying Coughlin is in crisis mode nad had lost the locker-room.

So in all, Pierce’s comments seem to have some validity to them, and for a guy who is as well respected as an athlete like Tiki is, to be so disliked personally by so many, has to be a cause for concern.

Tiki’s agent Mark Lepselter wasted no time firing back at Pierce.

“I wholeheartedly acknowledge Antonio has a Super Bowl ring,” he said. “But beyond that do I really need to waste my time comparing Tiki’s accomplishments in Giants blue with Antonio’s accomplishments in Giants blue?”

We’ll see if any team takes a chance on a 36-year old guy, coming off being out of the league for 4 years.

I hope this doesn’t hurt Tiki’s TV career, we all just LOVE him on NBC news, and of course reporting for NBC’s Sunday Night Football with pal of the site Peter King.
